When do draws take place?
There is one draw every day, taking place immediately after ticket sales close at 6:49 PM ET.
What are the different ways to play?
You can play to match the four numbers in exact order (also known as a Straight), or in any order (called a Box). Another option is to split your wager between both of these game types. Go to the

How much can I wager?
For Straight and Box plays, you can wager either $0.50 or $1 per play. A Straight/Box has a fixed cost of $1.
What prizes can I win?
There are lots of prizes in Daily 4, up to a maximum of $5,000 for a $1 wager on matching all four numbers in exact order. The amount you can win depends on your play type and how much you wager. Go to the

What are the odds of winning?
There are 10,000 possible combinations between 0000 and 9999. Your odds of winning a prize are determined by the game type you play.
Can I enter more than one draw at a time?
Yes, you can enter your numbers into as many as 24 consecutive drawings.
Is there an age limit for playing Daily 4?
The minimum age to buy lottery tickets in West Virginia is 18.
How do I claim a prize if I win?
All Pick 4 prizes can be claimed by mail. Winnings of up to $600 can be redeemed at West Virginia Lottery retailers, while larger amounts can be collected at claim centers in Charleston, Weirton or Charles Town.
How long do I have to claim?
Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date.
Will my prize be taxed?
All lottery prizes over $5,000 have taxes withheld on West Virginia. The rate of federal tax is 24 percent, while state tax is 6.5 percent.
What happens if my ticket gets lost or damaged?
A Lottery ticket is a bearer instrument, so anyone holding one is presumed to be the owner. You should always sign the back of a ticket to help protect yourself, but if you lose it you will not be able to claim. It may be possible to claim on a damaged ticket if it can be scanned.
