Ways to Play West Virginia Pick 4

If you enjoy lotteries that can be played in different ways, you're going to love Pick 4! The West Virginia version of the game - known as Daily 4 - offers several play types. The three distinct game styles are outlined in the boxes below so you know which one would be right for you.

Straight
Exact Order

Also known as a Straight, this is the game type for you if you're hunting Daily 4's top prize. To win, the numbers you pick must all be drawn in the same positions. For example, a wager of 2468 would be lost if the numbers were drawn in another order such as 8642.

Box
Any Order

Sometimes called a Box, all you are required to do with this play type is to match all four of your numbers. The order is irrelevant, so in this case a wager of 2468 would still give you a payout if the numbers were drawn as 8642 or any other mix of the same digits.

Straight/Box
Exact/Any

A smart way to boost your odds but still play for a big prize is to combine an Exact Order and an Any Order play. It's also called a Straight/Box and the wager amount is a fixed $1, with $0.50 going on each game type. You can win both parts of the bet or just the 'Any Order' play.

Ways to Match Numbers

Play an Exact Order game and your chances of winning are always 1 in 10,000. However, Any Order games work a bit differently, as there are multiple ways that you can win. For example, a wager on 1776 would also give you a win if the numbers drawn were 6771, 1767, and so on.

You can structure your play as a 4-Way, 6-Way, 12-Way or 24-Way. The table at the bottom describes each one, gives an example and your odds of winning. You can also use the generator below to find out the winning combinations for any set of numbers and any play type.
